MEU February 23 newsletter

MEU February 23 newsletter

February remains the toughest month for us as it marks the anniversary of the ongoing full-scale russian invasion against Ukraine, a war that has claimed thousands of lives and displaced millions. The war is not over, so we’d like to focus this newsletter on things YOU can do to make a difference.

There are a lot of lessons learned over the past year, and here's one of them: only actions make a difference. Please consider a few things:

  • Go to the demonstration in your city on Feb 24th. The war should not be forgotten, we should stand as one against tyranny, crimes and in support of our democratic values.
  • Donate to our Support Program, so we can pay scholarships to Ukrainian musicians in need https://musicexportukraine.com/support-program
  • Donate to Ukrainian trust-worthy charities. We've made a selection of those that were created by the Ukrainian music industry stakeholders: https://musicexportukraine.com/music-charities-ua
  • Add Ukrainian components to your projects. Every festival spot, article in the media, radioplay, collaboration or even a shared playlist builds the momentum and contributes to the Ukrainian victory. MEU team is there to help you with artist selection, facilitation and magic happening. Check out our latest roster of UA acts available for booking.
  • Explore Ukrainian music and culture. There are more opportunities for that than you think. You can start off with our playlist (updated regularly!) and continue exploration via the English version of Ukrainian key music media Slukh
  • Educate yourself. Propaganda is strong. Make sure not to fall under perception fallacy, and spend some time learning about Ukraine. For example, check out a great Udemy course on Ukrainian culture.
  • Share information with your network. It's not about the hype anymore, it's about intentional communication that's important more than ever. This can be a link to a Ukrainian charity, or just a video of your favorite Ukrainian artist. Every message matters!

We are really grateful for the support of our international partners, who is on a mission to spread Ukrainian culture. With your help, Ukrainian acts got heard on dozens of European festivals (from Glastonbury to Pohoda festival), on radio stations (cheers to European Radio Plugging!), mentioned in hundreds of articles and shazamed million times.

War is not a hype topic, and it never should be. We’re here to help our country get heard and win, and we’re standing as one in this mission.
