MEU January 23 newsletter

A year of the Ukrainian inevitable Victory has begun, and so we are here to share some of the smaller victories of this year so far.

Knowing your love for Ukrainian music, we gathered information regarding tours of Ukrainian artists in your cities.

  • Touching poetry united with electronics, musical documentary and therapeutic project  warнякання  will be on tour in Poland, Germany, The Netherlands and Norway. To experience the reflections of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, look for the dates however, the schedule will be updated. Half of the income from the tour will be donated to the Musicians Defend Ukraine fund, which supports musicians at the front.
  • On February 25th, in Berlin will take place a Ukrainian modern art and culture festival “Art - Weapon”. The lineup is pure joy, because there are the best what Ukrainian indie culture can offer - warнякання, Kurs Valüt, The Lazy Jesus, Stas Koroliov, Tonka, OTOY, MONOKONDA, and others. Organizing the event is the Ukrainian civilian movement in Berlin “Vitsche Berlin” which will distribute the funds raised from the ticket sales to artists and funds that support the Ukrainian military.
  • Stas Koroliov, Kurs Valüt and Zbaraski will be at Melkweg Amsterdam on February 28th.

We are extremely happy to start a big educational project focused on Eastern European music! Stay tuned for some huge announcements!  Meanwhile, we have published a free video course about the foundations of Music Promotion, Live Music, Artist Management, and Music Publishing within the Eastern European Music Academy online activities.

Follow the link to a video course for musicians, artists, music managers and other industry professionals and spread the word among the ones, who might be interested. We are grateful to the speakers: Christian Holl Buhl (FACTORY 92), Ellie Giles (Step Music Management), Florin Petrescu (Roton Music) and Katja Thalerová (LALA Slovak Music Export) who are eminent professionals from all over Europe, and are ready to share their wisdom with the younger peers.

This year, ESNS had been very special for us. Even though the festival had a focus on Spain, the Ukrainian presence felt very welcome. Indeed, this year's Ukrainian delegation at ESNS has been the most extensive ever.  Very proud of 7 Ukrainian artists - Chillera, Krapka;KOMA, JERRY HEIL, Kurs Valüt,Alina Pash and Daria Kolomiec for fully-packed shows in front of professional audiences, media representatives, and music fans.

On top of that, Alina Pash hosted the award ceremony of EU's  Music Moves Europe Awards, where JERRY HEIL got the special Public choice awards. Along with that, UAME received Take A Stand Award on European Festival Awards as one of the best social projects of the previous year. In addition to that, we are happy to announce that Music Export Ukraine became a proud member of the ESNS exchange network, which gives us the opportunity to nominate our artists as the highlights of the program. This would give Ukrainian artists more opportunities to be featured in international media and have more chances to be booked for European festivals.
