In April 2021 a Digital Lab for Ukrainian music managers took place. In a nutshell, It’s a project developed by House of Europe that brings together managers of creative hubs from all over Ukraine to share their experiences & overcome common challenges. As usual, Digital Lab consisted of online lectures, workshops and practical tasks crafted to boost music industry skills.

Program was developed in partnership with Music Export Ukraine. On top of that, our project manager Marianna Tanska was one of the moderators of the program, while Dartsya Tarkovska joined the team of mentors. Cheers to all students of the course and their bright ideas!

In May 2021 MEU took part in organization of the "Music Promotion" event of the Alteration program, a mutual initiative of the EU Delegation to Ukraine and the Ukrainian Institute, supported via the Cultural Relations Platform.

Participants shared the experience of how they survived the year of the pandemic and discussed the good case practices in international music promotion, including music PR during pandemic stress, presence of musicians in social media, international music distribution and many more. Also our project manager Tetiana Stadnyk organized a highly interactive and engaging online matchmaking session, which allowed all the participants to pitch their project, present themselves, and have the first contact with the prospective partners.

In Spring we were delighted to gather emerging Ukrainian acts on the #ACE workshops prepared and hosted by our German partners OSTAR Music Network. They crafted the content to help Ukrainian promising artists to set up international career and find out more about the German music industry. We had lectures, workshops, meetings with German musicians and many more for two days.

On the Ukrainian side we had a set of amazing Ukrainian artists involved: DZ'OB, FO SHO, Krapka;KOMA, TVORCHI, New Brain Trio, julinoza_music, Тонка, WentSeat, Z'AHAR, Katarina Gryvul, NFNR, Rockoko Official, THECASTLE. On top of that, some key highlights from the workshop appeared in our blog.

On September, 2 Dartsya Tarkovska (MEU co-founder) joined some exciting online networking sessions on Live at Heart - one of Scandinavia’s biggest showcase festivals and industry conferences. They are showcasing the stars of tomorrow and bringing creative professionals together to inspire, learn and create. During Live at Heart, hundreds of music industry people came together in the heart of Örebro - both online and offline.

BLOK. Autumn also brought us a chance to be back to the BLOK: Slavic Music Meet - Toronto's East European showcase conference. Dartsya Tarkovska (MEU co-founder) and Vlad Yaremchuk (Atlas Weekend) joined the online networking session to spread the word about the Ukrainian music industry. On top of that, there were offline performances as well as online streams of such renowned Ukrainian artist performances as Dakha Brakha, Ragapop, Marina Krut and other no less amazing musicians. Thanks to all Slavic partners for gathering, it was fun & insightful!
