In 2023 we were glad to cooperate with a Liverpool-based online radio Melodic Distraction. That's how UAUAUA programme was created: a set of episodes to get acquainted with new Ukrainian music. As a result, Dartsya Tarkovska (Music Export Ukraine co-founder) prepared the following topics:

• Choosing a winner... Every year the selection of Ukrainian representatives for Eurovision turns into a big contest itself. Some artists even consider it as an opportunity to get more local recognition. We’ll walk you through some hidden gems!

• Music at the time of war. Since the first week of the full-scale invasion of russia, Ukrainian artists kept on writing new songs. What impact did it leave on the music and lyrics? Let’s explore the most interesting works influenced by war.

• Getting heard globally. You might hear more Ukrainian artists than you actually think! Let’s discuss the most prominent acts that actively find an international audience and export their music to new markets.

• Ladies first. In 2020 the research of Ukrainian music industry showed a very clear disbalance between male and female artists. Still, there’s definitely a lot of amazing female acts worth recognition. Together we’ll get acquainted with some of them.
