Music Export Ukraine is proud to collaborate with Open Music Europe — an ambitious initiative designed to create an open, scalable data-to-policy pipeline for European music ecosystems.
The project combines open data, open-source software, and open policy analysis, aiming to build the prototype of a modern, transparent, and highly automated European Music Observatory.

Lviv Music Sensus
As part of this work, MEU led the Live Music Census in Lviv, mapping nearly 40 venues and attending concerts at key locations such as Lviv Organ Hall, Nyzhnyj Zal, Dzyga, and Fest Republic. Together with local promoters and audiences, we explored the challenges and opportunities facing live music, as well as its cultural and social impact on the city.

Open Music Europe Podcast
MEU took part in the Open Music Europe podcast series. Our co-founder Alona Dmukhovska shared insights on the resilience of Ukraine’s music industry during wartime, highlighting how artists are navigating international connections, live performances under difficult circumstances, and new opportunities through streaming and cultural advocacy. Through research, dialogue, and international collaboration, this project has laid the groundwork for more inclusive and data-driven policies to support music across Europe — with Ukraine’s voice firmly at the table.
